Advances in technology have allowed orthodontists to offer a variety of options to straighten teeth. Traditional metal braces are still the most common choice, but clear braces, such as Clarity™ cosmetic braces and Invisalign® clear aligners, are growing in popularity among teenagers and adults hoping to obtain straighter teeth a little less noticeably. We are the only orthodontic office in East Texas using the ITero scanner.
Metal braces are the most common orthodontic treatment choice. They are made of high-grade stainless steel and, with progress, have become smaller, more comfortable, and more attractive. Traditional braces require patients to schedule routine appointments, so the orthodontist can make adjustments to ensure the braces are performing correctly. Patients may choose from a wide variety of colored bands that add a little personality to the straightening process. Even many adults use colors.
Thanks to their clear appearance, Clarity™ Advanced Ceramic Braces allow patients to achieve straighter smiles with a little more subtlety. Made by 3M from a hard ceramic material that blends with the color of your teeth, Clarity braces are significantly less conspicuous than traditional metal braces. Clarity braces are equally as durable as metal braces, and they won’t stain or discolor. It’s "clear" why so many patients choose to straighten their teeth with Clarity braces.
Invisalign® is the answer to correcting misaligned teeth without the use of conspicuous metal wires and brackets. Many patients want straighter smiles, but can’t imagine spending 18 to 24 months with traditional braces. For this reason, we may recommend Invisalign clear aligners so patients can straighten their teeth discreetly.
Invisalign® is available to adult and teenage orthodontic patients who want to straighten their teeth almost invisibly. Plus, Dr. Hutto is among the top five percent of Invisalign providers and has treated more than 500 patients with Invisalign clear aligners.
Kids aren’t the only ones who benefit from orthodontic treatment. Even for adults, orthodontic work can radically transform smiles and improve self-esteem. Plus, crooked teeth not only impact your appearance, but they can also contribute to gum recession, bone loss, tooth decay and irregular destruction of tooth enamel and surfaces.
